Dr. Julia A. Schultz
When I was little, my family used to go the coasts of denmark during the summer for vacations. Ever since my father showed me fossilized sea-urchins and belemnites on the beaches of denmark, I wanted to know more.
I studied palaeontology to understand what fossils are and what they can tell us about the history of our planet.
My research interests focus on early mammalian evolution with emphasis on functional morphology of the dentition and reconstruction of mastication pattern. I also work on the evolution of the mammalian middle and inner ear using micro-computed tomography, 3D-reconstruction and virtual simulation.
